Indy's Dad is THE BEST - Last Crusade Thoughts

Okay, so we just finished watching "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" with the kiddos for family movie night. I know, I know, some people might cringe at Indy for being 'family friendly', but honestly, I think it's mostly fine. There's some mild violence, sure, but nothing too disturbing and the historical context is actually really cool for learning! Plus, it's just plain fun. My main takeaway? Sean Connery as Indy's dad is pure GOLD. Honestly, their dynamic is hilarious and so heartwarming. The scene where they're tied back-to-back and arguing? Comedy genius. My kids were cracking up! And I think it's really neat to see a father-son relationship like that in a movie. Even though they bicker, you can tell they deeply care about each other. It's something I try to model with my own kids, you know? I also thought the challenges to get to the Grail were super imaginative. That leap of faith scene? Even I was holding my breath! And the whole 'choose the right cup' thing – it's a great reminder that appearances aren't everything. It sparked a good conversation with the kids about judging books by their covers, which is always a win. I did have to fast forward a bit through some of the Nazi stuff, as it got a little intense for my youngest. Maybe I should have previewed better, but overall, it was a fun and educational night. Indy for the win! Oh, and I totally forgot to mention -- River Phoenix as young Indy? PERFECT casting. seriously, he captured Harrison Ford's mannerisms so well. What a talent. Okay, I'm done rambling. What are YOUR favorite Last Crusade moments? Let me know!
