Burton's Batman: Still Holds Up? (And That World Design!)

Okay, fellow sci-fi and world-building fanatics, I gotta ask – does Tim Burton's 'Batman' (1989) still hit the same way it used to? I was rewatching it the other night, and while the plot is pretty straightforward Batman vs. Joker stuff, the atmosphere still gets me. Gotham City in that movie feels like a character itself. It's this grimy, art deco nightmare, almost like a gothic-punk city from some alternate reality. Seriously, the production design is insane. Anyone else get serious 'Metropolis' vibes from some of the cityscapes? I'm particularly obsessed with Wayne Manor. The way it's presented is so… isolated. Like Bruce is literally living in another dimension compared to the rest of Gotham. Like, did he ever consider moving? And speaking of Batman, Keaton's take is so different from the modern versions. He's almost… awkward? Which, in a weird way, makes him more believable as a billionaire playboy who's secretly a vigilante. Plus, the suit! The limited neck movement always makes me laugh, but the look is iconic still. But, what does everyone think of the world-building. Does Gotham feel lived in? Could you build a cool story in that 'verse? Or is it just a cool looking backdrop?
