Wait, "Look Who's Talking" Had Some Legit Stunts?!
Okay, so hear me out. I know, I know, "Look Who's Talking." Not exactly what you'd expect from mikecinema, right? But I was flipping channels the other day and it was on. I remember seeing it as a kid and thinking it was just… cute. But rewatching it now, especially that taxi scene where James (the cab driver) is racing to the hospital... did anyone else notice how much they actually did with the cars? Like, no blatant CGI for the near misses and hard turns. I was half expecting him to jump that Checker cab over something! Maybe it's just because everything's so green-screened these days, but those practical effects really popped out. I'm wondering if anyone knows who handled the stunt coordination? Was it anyone notable? And while we are at it, how much of that taxi scene do you think was actually John Travolta? He always seemed like a pretty physical actor. I'd bet he did more of that driving himself than we think. Anyone have some behind-the-scenes info? I'm just curious how much real driving they actually did do. You know, for the baby, I know it's all voice over, but the baby had some great expressions. If you know something about the baby let me know. I understand this might be more of a romance topic, but I could not help but notice it. I know that the movie is not the Fast and Furious or anything, but hey, for a comedy movie, the stunt game isn't bad. Maybe I'm going crazy from watching too many explosions, but it got me thinking. What other "non-action" movies have surprisingly solid stunt work we might be overlooking? Hit me with some suggestions!
