Tango & Cash: So bad it's AMAZING?!
Okay, so I know Tango & Cash isn't exactly horror or even a straight-up thriller, BUT hear me out! This flick from '89 is a total guilty pleasure. I mean, Stallone and Russell as rival cops forced to team up after being framed? It's so ridiculous, especially with the whole 'Yves Perret' plot being so convoluted. Like, the guy goes through a LOT for revenge, doesn't he? Definitely leans into action-comedy territory, but there are some surprisingly intense moments that give it a slight thriller vibe. Plus, the sheer over-the-top-ness of the action sequences is kinda thrilling in its own way, right? Anyone else remember that insane armored truck chase? LOL. Honestly, it's the kind of movie you watch when you want to turn your brain off and just have some fun. I definitely wouldn't call it 'high art' or anything, but the chemistry between Stallone and Russell is undeniable, even if their characters hate each other at first. And Teri Hatcher as Cash's sister? She's got some great scenes, too, even if I always felt like their relationship was a little underdeveloped. I'm curious what everyone else thinks. Is this a classic 80s action flick that holds up, or is it just a cheesy relic of a bygone era? I'm genuinely interested to hear other perspectives. Also, does anyone know who directed it? I swear I've seen different names floating around online...it's always bugged me lol. Final thought: totally worth it just for the mullets and the one-liners. 'Rambo is a pussy!' never gets old, haha. Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but I love this movie!
