"KK3": Was it really that bad or am I just nostalgic?

Okay, so I know The Karate Kid Part III gets A LOT of hate. Like, universally panned, right? But I rewatched it recently, and I'm wondering if maybe we're all being a little harsh? Maybe it's because I grew up with it, but I don't think it’s completely irredeemable. Granted, Terry Silver is cartoonishly evil. Like, Lex Luthor levels of villainous! And Daniel's being manipulated the entire time which makes him seem kinda dumb after everything he's gone through. But I still think it has some genuinely cool moments. That whole rock climbing scene was pretty intense, and I actually liked the fight at the end (even if it was kind of a retread of the first movie). And seeing Mr. Miyagi just overpowering Terry Silver? So satisfying! My real question is: Is the overwhelming negativity just because it's not as feel-good as the first two? Were expectations just too high? Or am I just blinded by nostalgia and missing a bunch of glaring flaws?? I'm open to hearing other people's takes, maybe someone can tell me why I'm secretly wrong! LOL.
