And what about Doc? She's a doctor, obviously educated, and she's instantly drawn to him. I think she sees past the bouncer facade and recognizes the intellectual underneath. She's not just into him because he's kicking ass, there's something deeper there, right? I mean, why else would a small town doc be interested in a guy who looks like he lives at a gym? And Brad Wesley... he's just a typical small-town tyrant, but Dalton's knowledge is his secret weapon. Wesley is a bully who takes what he wants, confident that his money and henchmen are enough, but Dalton outsmarts him at every turn. It's like a chess match, except instead of rooks and pawns, it’s mullet-wearing goons and exploding boats. Honestly, it kinda elevated the whole movie for me. It's not JUST a dumb action flick (though, let's be real, the action is awesome); it's a surprisingly clever story about a highly educated guy using his skills to clean up a messed-up town.
