Turner & Hooch: Still Funny After All These Years!
Okay, so I threw on "Turner & Hooch" the other night because it was raining, and the kids were bouncing off the walls, and I needed something...familiar. And guys, it totally held up! I forgot how genuinely funny that movie is. Tom Hanks is just so good as straight-laced Turner, and Hooch...well, Hooch is Hooch! A drooling, destructive, but ultimately lovable goofball. I definately wouldn't want him in my house IRL though LOL. My kids, who are usually glued to screens with flashing lights and loud noises, actually laughed out loud when Hooch was tearing apart Turner's apartment. The scene where Hooch eats all the evidence photos? Classic! And even though it's a 'cop movie' there's nothing really scary or inappropriate for the younger ones, which is always a win in my book. I remember getting a little choked up at the end as a kid and I still teared up a bit this time around, even knowing what's coming. It's interesting watching it now as a parent too. You understand Turner's frustration with the chaos Hooch brings SO much more LOL. The whole thing is just a really good, lighthearted watch. It's not gonna win any Oscars, but if you're looking for something family-friendly that's actually entertaining, you could definitley do worse than "Turner & Hooch." Anyone else have fond memories of this one? Or am I just showing my age? Let me know your thoughts, and what other 'dog movies' I need to add to our family movie night rotation!
