Okay, "sex, lies, and videotape" - Let's Talk About Ann's Wardrobe...

So, I finally watched "sex, lies, and videotape" and wow, it was...interesting. Not exactly a rom-com, lol. But as usual, my brain immediately went to the costumes. Specifically, Ann's (Andie MacDowell) wardrobe. It's so perfectly repressed suburban housewife, right? All the creams and whites, very little shape. It REALLY reflects how trapped she feels. There's this one scene, I think it's early on, where she's wearing this oversized, almost shapeless white sweater with like, a high neck, and plain jeans. It practically screams 'I have no idea who I am anymore!' Then compare that to her sister Cynthia (Laura San Giacomo), all bright colors and shorter hemlines, so confident and free. The contrast is so deliberate, and it really sells the whole dynamic between the two women. I honestly felt so bad for Ann. It's like her clothes were a visual representation of her emotional state. I kinda wish we had gotten to see her in something bolder, something that showed her breaking free by the end... but I guess that wasn't really the movie's point? Overall, I found the movie a little slow tbh, but the subtle costume choices definitely added layers to the characters, especially Ann. What did you guys think of the film in general and Ann's style?
