Sea of Love - Pacino's Lonely Hearts Killer?
Okay, so last night we watched 'Sea of Love' (1989) and I have THOUGHTS. Pacino is great, obviously, playing this burnt-out detective, Frank Keller. The whole lonely hearts killer thing is creepy, and the POEMS? Just… unsettling. I was surprised how much I got into it, even though it's kinda slow-burn at times. Ellen Barkin is amazing, she's all kinds of sexy and mysterious, but like, can we trust her? That's like the whole question right? What I'm wondering is... did anyone else find the ending a little... rushed? Like, it builds and builds, and then suddenly it's all over? Especially with the gun. It felt like the movie was trying to make us think she was innocent but then BAM. It's still a great movie, I just felt like it could have spent a bit more time on the reveal. Also, am I the only one who thought the scene in the bar where he sees her and they start dancing was super awkward? Like, the chemistry is there, but it's also like, 'Dude, she's a suspect!!' Lol, maybe that's the point. And is there anything else with a similar vibe? That kind of suspense/romance thing. Always looking for new recommendations! One other thing: The director is unknown?? That's strange, maybe someone here knows who actually directed it! I'll google it myself after posting this I guess, haha.
