Anyone else slept on "We're No Angels" (1989)? Newman & De Niro FTW!

Okay, fam, I just watched "We're No Angels" (the 1989 one with Paul Newman and De Niro) for the first time, and I'm kinda kicking myself for not seeing it sooner! Like, how did I miss this gem? I always thought De Niro was just serious crime movie dude, but he's genuinely pretty funny here. Seeing him and Newman play off each other is pure gold. I was dying during the scene where they're trying to do the baptism, and Mel thinks he's accidentally killed the baby! The looks on their faces were just... chef's kiss. Seriously, does anyone know if they actually had a good time filming this, 'cause the chemistry feels so real? I thought it was pretty cool that they didn't try to make the characters all redeemable either, they are just bad guys trying to get away, which is interesting. But here's my question: Did anyone else find the ending a little... abrupt? Like, it just kinda ends. No big showdown, no massive twist, just... they're free. I mean, I'm not complaining (I was kinda rooting for them, ngl), but I was expecting something more. Or maybe that's part of its charm? What did you all think about the finale? Also, low key obsessed with Demi Moore in this. She's amazing!
