"Chances Are" - Is Miranda the TRUE Key to the Plot?! (Hear me out...)

Okay, so I watched "Chances Are" again last night (guilty pleasure, don't judge! 😉), and a thought popped into my head that I HAD to share. Bear with me, because it might sound a little out there. We all focus on Louie/Alex and Corinne, naturally, but what if Miranda is actually MORE important to the whole reincarnation puzzle than we think? Like, the whole movie hinges on her, right? Think about it. She's the one who's REALLY pushing Alex to figure out his past, even before he starts remembering things on his own. And remember that scene when Alex first meets her and he's SO drawn to her? What if, somehow, she subconsciously knew who he was all along? Or, even wilder, what if SHE had some connection to Louie's death that's never explicitly stated? Maybe she was supposed to protect him but failed. I know, I know, that sounds crazy! But the way she is hyperfocused on him, like she's trying to steer him towards Corinne, is just weird when you watch it closely. Plus, when Alex asks her to run away with him, she gets like, weirdly upset, almost like she knew this was a test and he had to go back to Corinne. The fact that she just disappears never really sat right with me. It's like she served her purpose and then poof. Maybe the whole "forgetting serum" thing wasn't just about Alex forgetting, but somehow allowed Miranda, as some kind of celestial helper, to do what she needed to do. Just a theory, obvs! What do you guys think? Has anyone else seen something similar, or am I just overthinking this whole 80s rom-com classic?
