Home Alone: Still holds up, but let's talk about those stunts!

Okay, so I rewatched Home Alone last night (it's a Christmas tradition, duh) and man, it's still hilarious. But as a tech-head, I can't help but focus on how they PULLED OFF some of those gags back in 1990. Like, seriously, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern took some SERIOUS hits! I'm talking specifically about the iron to the face (ouch!), the paint cans swinging down the stairs, and that blowtorch scene – which, by the way, must've required some serious safety coordination. I know a lot of it is slapstick comedy, but you can't deny the commitment from the actors and the stunt team. I mean, how many takes of Marv stepping on the Christmas ornaments were there? It looked genuinely painful! You've gotta wonder how much of it was practical effects and how much was clever editing to protect the actors. And let's not forget the sound design! Every thud, clang, and scream is perfectly timed to amplify the comedic effect. The way they layered those sounds on top of the visuals adds so much to the overall impact. It's definitely a masterclass in comedic timing and physical comedy. Sure, it's a little cheesy and predictable at times now, but those stunts still get a laugh out of me every single time. What are your favorite gags from the movie? Let me know!
