Back to the Future III - Doc Brown's Secret Knowledge...?
Okay guys, so we just finished Back to the Future Part III and I have a THEORY. We know Doc is a genius, right? But I think he knew way more about what was gonna happen in 1885 than he let on. Specifically, I think he low-key orchestrated meeting Clara. I mean, think about it. He builds that whole elaborate contraption with the model of Hill Valley just to demonstrate gravity to her? Like, really Doc? I think he knew exactly what kind of impression that would make on a science-minded woman. Plus, the whole clock tower dedication thing...it just seems too perfect. It's like he was setting the stage for their entire romance, which ultimately saves him. And another thing...when Marty gets there, Doc is already super settled in. He's got a blacksmith shop, he's got friends, he's got this whole life built for himself. Even before Clara. How did he manage all that so fast? My conspiracy theory is he wasn't just doing science experiments. He was subtly manipulating events, almost like he was following a script, just waiting for Marty to show up so the Clara romance could play out. Maybe he knew more about time travel paradoxes than he let on and knew that he NEEDED to stay in 1885 in order to prevent some kind of timeline catastrophe. I might have to rewatch it to see if I missed anything... Maybe I'm totally overthinking it (I probably am, lol) but it just feels like there's something fishy about Doc's actions in the third movie. He's not just a genius scientist; he's a genius strategist too! Although... it is him so there is a BIG chance that it was just really dumb luck. Okay, fine, maybe that's more likely. But still! It's a fun thought, right? What do you guys think? Am I crazy, or am I onto something? Also I swear Doc and Clara are total couple goals, anyone else agree?
