BTTF III: Trains, Cowboys, and Clara Clayton...Oh My!

Okay, okay, so I stayed up way too late last night and re-watched Back to the Future Part III. Look, I know, some people rag on it, say it's the weakest of the trilogy. But honestly? I kinda dig it. Maybe it's the whole Western thing? I've always had a soft spot for a good Western, and seeing Marty in a cowboy hat just tickles me. Plus, the whole 'Doc falling in love' storyline with Clara Clayton? C'mon, that's kinda sweet. I was genuinely worried he wasn't gonna make it back to the future! The whole train sequence at the end is just pure adrenaline, man. I mean, rigging up the DeLorean to run on the train? That's some serious MacGyver stuff right there. And Buford 'Mad Dog' Tannen? Thomas F. Wilson just kills it as the ultimate Old West bully. I gotta give it to him, he plays the villain so well. I honestly was worried Marty was gonna get shot. I feel there were too many close encounters for him in the whole trilogy - he's lucky he isn't made of glass! There's definitely some stuff that's kinda cheesy, I won't lie. Like, some of the dialogue feels a little forced, and maybe the romance is a bit over-the-top (although, Lea Thompson always makes me smile). But overall, it's just a fun, feel-good movie. It wraps up the trilogy nicely, gives Doc a happy ending, and sends Marty back to his own time (for good, this time, I think). Plus, that ZZ Top cameo is epic. Anyone else get the feeling they kinda set up a John Wells storyline when they show him tearing the train apart and building the time machine prototype? So yeah, BTTF III might not be perfect, but it's got its own charm. It's a solid 7/10 for me. What do you guys think? Am I the only one who actually likes it this much, or are there other Wild West BTTF fans out there? Let me know!
