Die Hard 2: Underrated Stunt Work and a CRAZY Theory

Alright action junkies, MikeCinema here. Let's talk Die Hard 2. Yeah, yeah, everyone loves the original (me included, obviously). But I think the sequel gets slept on, especially when it comes to the stunts. I mean, c'mon, McClane ejecting from that cockpit right before the plane crashes? That's some next-level stuff even for the '90s. And all the practical effects in the baggage handling scene? Chef's kiss. People complain that it's too over-the-top, but that's what I LOVE about it! But here's my crazy theory, and hear me out: McClane is actually subconsciously trying to recreate the Nakatomi Plaza scenario. Think about it. He's waiting for his wife (again), it's Christmas Eve (again), and terrorists show up (again!). Like, what are the odds, right? Maybe he's got some deep-seated trauma from the first movie and subconsciously puts himself in situations where he can be the hero again. It kinda makes sense to me. And while we are at it, Franco Nero as Esperanza is great casting. He is a great character. Some say that the terrorists plan is convoluted but hey, movies are movies. I'm not going to pick nits. I guess what I am trying to say is, give Die Hard 2 another watch. Forget the plot holes, and just appreciate the pure, unadulterated stunt work and mayhem. It's way more fun that way. Anyone else have thoughts on the stunts or my McClane-is-a-chaos-magnet theory? Let me know!
