Predator 2: Underrated or Just Plain Bad?

Okay, so I finally got around to watching Predator 2. I know, I'm late to the party. But hear me out! I went in expecting utter garbage, and honestly? I was… entertained. Danny Glover is doing his best 'grizzled cop who's seen too much' thing, and while it's not exactly nuanced, he commits. The whole urban jungle setting actually kinda works, and the voodoo gang subplot? Wild! I was genuinely surprised by the amount of world-building they crammed in. Like, the Predator's trophy collection? That's some seriously disturbing commitment to the bit. But BUT but... the dialogue is so cheesy it hurts sometimes. And some of the performances are…questionable. I feel like they could have amped up the tension a bit more, but I appreciate that they went for a different vibe than the first movie. It's less about survival in the wilderness and more about a gritty, over-the-top action flick. And the ending! Okay, I won't spoil it, but the whole 'honorable warrior' thing with the elder Predators felt kinda forced? Like they were trying too hard to make the Predator a sympathetic figure. I almost rolled my eyes. Overall, it's a messy, flawed, but weirdly fun watch. I'd give it a solid 6/10. Definitely not as good as the original, but worth a viewing if you're in the mood for some 90's action schlock. What do you guys think? Am I being too generous? Or is Predator 2 secretly a diamond in the rough?
