Yo, "Tremors" is WAY more rewatchable than it has any right to be!

Okay, so I just rewatched "Tremors" (1990) for like, the millionth time, and I'm still cracking up. Like, Burt Gummer is an absolute ICON, right? The whole 'I am COMPLETELY out of ammo. That's never happened to me before' line kills me every single time. But seriously, why is this movie so damn good? Is it the practical effects? 'Cause those graboids still look terrifyingly awesome, and the tremors in the ground actually feel REAL, y'know? Or is it just the Kevin Bacon/Fred Ward bromance thing? I think what REALLY gets me is how smart the characters are (for the most part, anyway). They actually try to figure out the graboids' weaknesses instead of just running around screaming (though there's plenty of that too, lol). Like, the scene where they're trying to figure out how the graboids see/hunt? Genius! And the pole-vaulting thing? Come ON, so creative and hilarious! But here's my question for you guys: Do you think "Tremors" is secretly a REALLY well-made B-movie, or is it actually just a really good creature feature period? Like, does it transcend the genre, or is that part of its charm? Also, Burt Gummer - hero or just batsh*t crazy? Both? Let me know what you think! Oh, and the director is Ron Underwood! He gets a shout-out from me for making this movie a fun ride.
