Rocky V: Underrated, Overhated, or Just...Meh?

Okay, film buffs, cinephile_sarah here! I've been on a bit of a Stallone deep dive lately, and naturally, that led me to Rocky V. Now, I know, I KNOW. It's often considered the worst of the franchise, and yeah, it's definitely not a masterpiece. But I'm genuinely conflicted! On one hand, the entire financial plotline felt kinda forced and rushed. Like, they blow through all that money way too fast to be believable. And Tommy Gunn as a character? So flat! But, BUT, I actually liked the focus on Rocky's relationship with his son, Robert. That scene where Rocky's giving him the "tough get going" speech? It hit harder than I expected. Plus, the return to the grit of the original, the street fights vs. the huge stadium spectacles, I think that had potential. But here’s my question: am I totally off base in thinking the cinematography is actually decent in parts? I was paying close attention to the lighting in the training montages with Tommy and even during the final brawl. There some good, shadowy stuff going on--like, a conscious effort to contrast the brightness of the earlier films? Or am I just trying too hard to find redeemable qualities in what's ultimately a bit of a mess? What di you all think?
