Okay, "Awakenings" actually made me cry ðŸ˜
So I just watched "Awakenings" (don't know who directed it, oops) and wow, that movie sneaked up on me. I went in expecting some kinda medical drama, maybe a bit boring, but it was way more emotional than I thought! I mean, Robert De Niro as Leonard? He was incredible! Seeing him go from basically unresponsive to... well, a real person, with all the good and bad that comes with it, was seriously powerful. That scene where he's trying to dance with Paula (his visitor, right?) and just... can't connect? Ugh, my heart broke. And Robin Williams as Dr. Sayer, you could really feel his awkwardness but also his genuine hope and care for his patients. The whole concept of 'awakening' these people after so long... it's just a heavy, thought-provoking idea. I was legit sobbing by the end, especially when things start to... you know... go back to the way they were. I think what got to me the most was the the whole thing felt so real. Like, it wasn't just a happy ending kinda movie, and it dealt with some tough issues about life, connection, and disappointment. Definitely a movie that sticks with you. I'm not usually one for super serious dramas, but this one was worth it. Anyone else see it and feel the same way? Maybe I should watch something lighter next, suggestions welcome! (Preferably with explosions.)
