DuckTales Movie - Okay, it's better than I expected!
Alright, so I finally got around to watching "DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp." I gotta admit, I went in expecting... well, kinda dumb fun. You know, basic kids' movie stuff. And yeah, it's definitely for kids, but it was surprisingly enjoyable! Way more than I thought it would be. Scrooge McDuck is hilarious, especially when he's obsessing over money (like, ALL the time!). The whole adventure in Egypt was pretty cool. I liked the booby traps and the puzzles, even if they were kinda predictable. And the Genie! I thought he was going to be annoying, but he was actually funny, especially when he gets all into television. That whole pizza scene? Gold. Plus Dijon the villain was actually a pretty good bumbling bad guy. He wasn't scary, but he wasn't totally useless either. Honestly, I think the best parts were how they managed to keep the spirit of the cartoon. The animation wasn't groundbreaking or anything, but it was solid, and the voice acting was spot on. It just felt like a really long episode, which, for a first-time DuckTales watcher, I think is a good thing? I'm actually tempted to check out some of the original show now. One thing, tho... did anyone else think the ending was a little rushed? Like, they find the lamp, have a few adventures, and then BAM! Suddenly it's over. I wanted a little more closure with the Genie, I guess. Still, overall a really fun watch. 7/10? Maybe even an 8, purely for nostalgia points I didn't even have before!
