Bardock: Time Travel Shenanigans (Or Did It?)

Okay, fellow film fanatics! Priya here, and I had to unpack something that's been bugging me about "Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku." It's a great little side story, especially for a DBZ film, but the ending always felt...off. Specifically, Bardock's 'time travel' moment when he faces off against Frieza's ancestor, Chilled. So, the prevailing theory is that Bardock actually time traveled. He goes from Vegeta being destroyed to…wherever that planet Chilled was hanging out. But what if he DIDN'T actually travel through time? What if it was just another future vision, a really powerful one that Bardock experienced right before his death? Think about it – all the other visions he had involved the destruction of Planet Vegeta and Goku facing Frieza. Maybe that final vision was so vivid, so intense, that he was practically in it, fighting alongside that Saiyan who looks suspiciously like Goku. And then he just like. dies, vision ends, no time travel needed. I think this interpretation makes a LOT more sense in the established DBZ lore. Time travel is usually a huge deal with serious consequences. For Bardock to just pop back in time and inspire a whole new generation without literally anything about it being mentioned later seems...lazy writing, even for Dragon Ball. It also adds a layer of tragic irony to Bardock's character. He fights so hard to change the future he sees, but all he really does is see a vision of a very distant future where a Saiyan defeats Frieza’s ancestor. He dies thinking he’s changed something, but all he's done is experience a vision. Anyway, just my two cents! What do you guys think? Am I totally off base, or does this make more sense than actual time travel chaos? And does anyone else HATE Chilled's design lol? He just looks like a dollar-store Frieza. Discuss!
