"Tree of Might": Overhyped Nostalgia or Am I Missing Something?

Okay, so I finally caved and watched "The Tree of Might." Everyone always goes on about how it's one of the best DBZ movies. I'm just... not seeing it? Like, the animation is fine, I guess, for its time. But the story? A giant tree draining the Earth? Turles and his crew are just blatant Saiyan Saga knockoffs, right down to the power levels getting suspiciously high, conveniently matching up for Goku to surpass. Am I the only one who thinks the whole thing feels incredibly recycled? And don't even get me started on Gohan's Great Ape transformation. It's a cheap nostalgia bait moment that adds nothing. Yeah, we see him as an Ape again, but I swear, he just kinda stands there and roars for a solid five minutes. So impactful! And, honestly, the whole concept of the Tree of Might just feels goofy compared to the other villains of the franchise. A magic tree that makes you strong? Isn't that just a lazy plot device? I know I know, 'it's Dragon Ball, not high art!' But even by DB standards, this one feels like pure filler. Maybe I'm just jaded, or maybe I'm missing some hidden brilliance here, but I'm dying to know if anyone else feels the same way. What am I not getting? Is it the nostalgia factor, the soundtrack (which I admit is okay), or is there something genuinely great about this movie that I'm completely blind to?
