Tree of Might: Rewatching and Still Noticing Stuff!

Okay, so I revisited "Tree of Might" again last night. I know, I know, I've seen it a million times, but I swear, every time I watch it, I pick up on something new. This time, it was Turles' crew and how messed up they were. Am I the only one who thinks Lakasei is kinda underrated as a weird villain? Like, he just blows himself up to try and take Gohan out! Talk about dedication (or maybe just desperation, lol). And speaking of Gohan, this movie REALLY hammers home how strong he COULD be if he actually trained consistently. The whole Great Ape transformation subplot felt a little rushed, but seeing Goku have to fight his own son was pretty brutal. I always forget how emotional that scene is, especially when Piccolo saves the day. Teamwork makes the dream work, I guess, even if it's just temporarily stopping a giant ape rampage. But honestly, what really got me this time was the animation during the Spirit Bomb scene. It's so vibrant and feels so much more dynamic than some of the earlier episodes of DBZ. It’s a shame the movie itself isn't considered fully canon, because the concept alone -- a tree that literally drains the planet's life force -- is pretty metal. Turles is a cool villain visually, if a little one dimensional. He's like, "What if Goku was evil and also obsessed with apples?" One tiny thing I always skip over but caught this rewatch: the music. Honestly, some of the tracks in this movie are legit bangers! I need to find the soundtrack. Anyone know if it's on Spotify or something? Definitely worth a watch (or re-watch!) if you're in the mood for some classic DBZ action with a slightly darker edge.
