Lord of the Flies (1990) - Rewatching and Still Noticing Things!

Okay, so I just re-watched the 1990 Lord of the Flies again (I’ve honestly lost count how many times now!), and it STILL gets to me. I know it's probably dated to some, but there's something so unsettling about it. This time, I really focused on Piggy's role. The way he keeps trying to bring reason and the rules to the group is heartbreaking, especially knowing how it'll end. I actually felt physically uncomfortable during the scene where Jack's tribe steals his glasses. It highlights how fragile civilization REALLY is. Also, I noticed more subtleties in Balthazar Getty's performance as Ralph this time. He's obviously trying to hold things together, but you can see the wear and tear on him as the film progresses. He looks so defeated by the end... just a really sad transition. Did anyone else catch the almost imperceptible shift in his posture? Like, at first, he’s standing tall, trying to be a leader. But later he kind of hunches over, shoulders slumped. Small details like that make the movie so good, in my opinion! One thing I did find a bit clunky this time around was the whole 'rescue' ending. I get the symbolism and all, but it felt a little rushed compared to the slow burn of the island descent. Maybe it's just me? Still, the film, as a whole, is so disturbing and affecting to watch. Really makes you think about human nature and all that good (or should I say bad?) stuff. Finally, I'm still kinda confused by the director being 'unknown' on some lists. Wikipedia says Harry Hook. So, yeah... bit weird. Someone please clarify! Anyway, any other hardcore fans out there with thoughts or favorite moments? Hit me up!
