Okay, hear me out...T2 is kinda romantic?

So, I watched Terminator 2 again last night (don't judge, sometimes you just need explosions and well-developed biceps), and I had a thought. Is it just me, or is there like, a weirdly sweet undercurrent of romance happening in that movie? Obviously, not in the traditional sense, lol. But think about it: the T-800, reprogrammed to protect John, develops this almost paternal bond with him. It's a protector romance, but in a platonic, slightly robotic way. Like, he literally learns the value of human life from a kid. That's kinda beautiful, right? And Sarah learning to trust him? Major enemies-to-allies vibes. I'm not saying they should have ended upp together, obvi. Just that there's a connection and I'm here for it. Then you have Sarah Connor, who is honestly the most badass mom ever. Like, talk about dedication to your offspring! She's ripped! She's ready to sacrifice everything to save her son and prevent the apocalypse. THAT is love. Forget your meet-cutes, this is REAL devotion, right here. I just keep thinking, there is a whole generation of women who grew up wanting to be Linda Hamilton, and I do not blame them. She could bench press me any day. Okay, and the T-1000? Seriously scary, but also kind of impressive in a “I’d hate to be chased by that” kinda way. Robert Patrick's deadpan delivery is iconic, and the way it perfectly mimics everything? Like, a villain, but one you can't deny has sheer skills? Okay, I'm done. I know it's a sci-fi action flick, not a rom-com, but I stand by my assessment. T2 has layers! And maybe I need to get out more. What do you guys think? Am I totally off my rocker dreaming up romance out of robots and explosions? (Also, gotta give props to the director, the one and only James Cameron... oops, my bad, lol)
