Beauty and the Beast (1991): Still holds up, but... Lumiere tho?

Okay, so last night a bunch of us finally got around to rewatching Beauty and the Beast (the animated one, obvs). It's been YEARS, and honestly, it still pulls at the heartstrings, right? Like, Belle is just the ultimate bookworm goals, and the songs are still total earworms. Paige, you were belting 'Be Our Guest' for a good hour afterwards, lol. But, and this is a big but, did anyone else find Lumiere just...kinda sleazy this time around? I mean, he's all 'Be Our Guest' and getting all up in Belle's personal space with the fire, and then the feather duster scenes? It just felt a little creepy, even though he's supposed to be the charming one. Maybe it's just me and the way we look at things now, but it definitely stood out way more than it did when I was a kid. Also, Gaston is such a cartoon villain, it's almost laughable. Like, how did anyone in that town actually think he was a catch? Ugh. But seriously, the animation during 'Be Our Guest' is still mind-blowing. Disney really knocked it out of the park with that whole sequence. But yeah, Lumiere... anyone else get that vibe? Or am I just overthinking it? Let me know your thoughts-- especially after a revisit!
