Beauty and the Beast: Okay, I'm Still a Sucker for Talking Teacups

Alright, rom-com fam, let's talk about Beauty and the Beast (the animated one, obvi). I rewatched it last night because, honestly, sometimes you just need a dose of Disney magic, am I right? And I gotta say, it mostly holds up. Belle is still a queen – bookish, independent, wants more than this provincial life... I stan. But can we talk about the Stockholm Syndrome jokes for a sec? Like, I get it, it's played for laughs, but the Beast is holding her captive. Still, I ship it. I'm trash, I accept it. Okay, the music SLAPS. "Be Our Guest" is an absolute banger, and I will not be accepting any arguments. Lumiere and Cogsworth? Comedy gold. Seriously, those two should have their own spin-off. And Mrs. Potts? Iconic mother figure. I definitely cried a little during the ballroom scene. Sue me. It's BEAUTIFUL. The ending, though? Always gets me. The transformation scene is still visually stunning. But honestly, I always feel slightly cheated that we didn't get to see more of 'hot' Prince Adam. I mean, he was a beast for, like, 90% of the movie, and then suddenly he's a prince again for, like, 5 minutes? Rude. Give the people what they want! Overall, it's a classic for a reason. It's got romance, humor, catchy songs, and talking furniture. What's not to love? Even though the whole kidnapping thing is a bit sus, I can't help but swoon. Rate it a solid 8/10. Would recommend a cozy night in with snacks and maybe some tissues, just in case. Now, back to doomscrolling until I find my own enchanted castle...
