Okay, So I FINALLY Watched The Addams Family (1991)
Alright guys, so I know I'm super late to the party on this one, but I finally got around to watching "The Addams Family" from '91. Honestly? I get the hype. I went in expecting something kinda cheesy, but it was genuinely funny! Christina Ricci as Wednesday is just...iconic. Seriously, every line she delivered was gold. That deadpan humor is completely my vibe. I was cracking up when she was trying to off Pugsley. Dark, I know, but so well done. Raul Julia as Gomez was also fantastic. He completely sold the over-the-top passionate husband thing. And Anjelica Huston as Morticia? Stunning. The whole aesthetic of the movie is just so well done. The sets, the costumes, everyone nailed it. I especially liked Thing. I know it's 'just a hand' but somehow it was so expressive. Like, how did they pull that off?! The plot itself was a little predictable with the fake Fester situation, but honestly, I didn't even care that much because the characters were so engaging. I think Fester was played by Christopher Lloyd? I know he was Doc Brown in Back to the Future and he was great in this too. I'm not sure how well I'll like it on a rewatch because I felt it kinda dragged a little in the middle, but overall, I really enjoyed it. So yeah, that's my super-late-to-the-game review. Anyone else have this movie as a childhood favorite? What are your best parts? Tell me, cuz I wanna know what to look for if I watch it again. Also, any other older movies you think I need to watch? I'm trying to get more classics under my belt!
