The Addams Family (1991): Still holds up!
Okay, so I rewatched "The Addams Family" (the 90s one) the other night, and it's still just as funny as I remember. I honestly think it's one of those movies that just gets better with age. Christina Ricci as Wednesday? Iconic! Her deadpan delivery is just chef's kiss. Plus, Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston as Gomez and Morticia are just relationship goals, even if their goals are a little... different, lol. I always crack up at the scenes with the 'fake' Uncle Fester. Christopher Lloyd is brilliant, even if I knew he was a fraud from the jump. The whole plot with the greedy doctor trying to swindle the Addamses is actually kinda clever, considering it's a comedy. And the special effects, while very 90s, are still pretty cool. Like, Thing is genuinely creepy and hilarious at the same time. I especially love that the real Uncle Fester was so weird he was living on the bermuda triangle lol. A couple of the jokes felt dated, I'll admit(that's bound to happen eventually), but overall, it's just a really fun movie. It's got great quotable lines, and the characters are so well-defined. Definitely recommend a rewatch if you're looking for something lighthearted and a little spooky. Anyone else still love this movie, or am I just stuck in the 90s?? What's your favorite part? Mine is probably when Wednesday and Pugsley try to recreate the burning at the stake - just so dark and funny!!
