My Girl: Anyone Else Weep Like a Baby?

Okay, GenX crew, let's get real. "My Girl" (1991). Remember that one? I gotta admit, I saw it in the theater way back when and, man, it STILL hits me right in the feels. Anna Chlumsky as Vada Sultenfuss? Perfect casting. She's got that awkward, pre-teen thing down pat, and her obsession with death because, ya know, funeral home life? It's morbidly hilarious at times. And Macaulay Culkin... Leo DiCaprio who? He just NAILS the best friend vibe as Thomas J. I swear, their lemonade stand schemes and his... unique allergies... were straight outta my childhood. The whole awkward crush on Dan Aykroyd thing, though? Bit weird, even back then. But seriously, that ending? That bee sting? I SOBBED. I mean, full-on ugly cry. Remember how shocked we all were? It was like, BAM. Reality check. Childhood's over. The innocence is GONE. It's like "Old Yeller" for the 90s. A total game-changer. My little sister was traumatized for WEEKS, I'm not even kidding. Even now, thinking about it makes my eyes water. It was a well-acted, genuinely emotional performance by both of them. I'd even put it on par with some of the great coming-of-age tearjerkers like "The Yearling," but with more 90s fashion flair. Anyone else feel like this movie permanently scarred them in a good way? I gotta say, it kind of prepared me for the harsh realities of life (and the importance of EpiPens, lol). It's not necessarily a great movie, like with groundbreaking filmmaking or anything, but it's a damn memorable one. And, honestly, sometimes that's all that matters. Pass me the tissues, I think I need to watch it again.
