Boyz n the Hood - Raw and Unflinching, but Did Tre Really Have A Choice?

Okay, so I finally got around to watching Boyz n the Hood last night. I know, I'm super late to the party. But damn, that movie hits HARD. The whole thing feels so real, like you're actually sitting on that porch with Tre and Ricky. Furious Styles is a legend, gotta say. Laurence Fishburne just becomes that character. He's laying down some serious truth bombs about responsibility and gentrification, stuff that's still relevant today. But here's what's bugging me... Did Tre really have a choice? I mean, Furious is trying his best, but Tre's surrounded by so much chaos. He's got Doughboy, who's basically written off by everyone, and Ricky, who just wants to get into USC. That scene where Ricky gets shot? Gut wrenching. It felt so… random and senseless. Like, he was right there. Were there signs that Tre could have recognized beforehand in himself or surroundings? I'm curious your thoughts. And that's where my question comes in. Was Tre just lucky because of Furious? Or did he have something inside him, a strength, that would have gotten him out even if his dad wasn't around? The movie kinda paints it like Furious is the sole reason, but I dunno, seems a bit simplistic. What do you guys think? Bonus points if anyone can tell me what kinda car Furious was driving? I remember it looked cool, but my brain was too fried to register the make and model after all that intense drama. lol.
