Freddy's Dead: Legit Scared or Just...Weird?

Okay, so I finally watched Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (yeah, right, 'final' lol). I went in expecting to be terrified, like hiding-behind-a-pillow scared, but honestly, I'm just...confused? There were definitely some creepy moments, like anything with Freddy's dad, that was super messed up. But then there's stuff like the video game scene with Freddy and Carlos. That felt so out of place and almost...cartoony? Was I supposed to laugh? I think I did, but then I felt guilty. I'm trying to figure out if it was scary to anyone else or if it was just goofy. Like, I did jump when Freddy messed with Spencer's Nintendo Power Glove. The whole 'Now I'm playing with power' thing was...kinda funny and kinda disturbing. I think the movie leaned too much into the comedy, which kinda ruined the scare factor. And don't even get me started on the whole Maggie/Katherine reveal as Freddy's daughter. What was with that?! It felt so random thrown in there at the last minute. It almost felt like it was written as an after thought. I did love her character, but still, the ending just felt rushed! So, tell me, anyone else feel this way? Was this movie genuinely scary for you, or did you spend most of it scratching your head like I did?
