"What About Bob?" - Underrated Sound Design or Am I Hearing Things?

Okay, so I just re-watched "What About Bob?" and man, Bill Murray is just chef's kiss. But I was really paying attention to the sound design this time around and I'm wondering if anyone else thinks it's subtly brilliant? Like, the way they use sound to amplify Bob's anxiety and Leo's growing frustration is just... muah! Specifically, remember that scene on the lake when Bob is 'sailing'? The squeaking of the boat, the water noises, and Bob's increasingly manic laughter... it all builds to this hilarious, but also kinda unsettling, crescendo. And later, the almost cartoonish 'boing' sound effect when Bob 'dies' - it's so wrong, but so right! I'm not saying it's gonna win any awards, but it really heightens the comedic tension. Maybe it's just me overanalyzing a classic 90s comedy, but I feel like the sound design in "What About Bob?" is more than just an afterthought. Did anyone else pick up on this? Or am I just too into this stuff?
