Okay, I gotta ask: Is "Problem Child 2" a guilty pleasure???
Alright, horror heads and thriller fanatics! Jessmovienerd here, and I need to confess something... I kind of have a soft spot for "Problem Child 2." I KNOW, I KNOW, it's not exactly "Rosemary's Baby," but hear me out. It's so ridiculously over-the-top, especially with Junior's antics. Like, the scene where he sabotages Annie's date with the wax museum? Hilarious! And let's be real, Gilbert Gottfried as Mr. Peabody is comedy GOLD. But here’s my question, because I'm genuinely curious: Am I alone in finding this movie secretly enjoyable? I mean, it's clearly not high art, and the plot is thinner than a ghost's veil, but the sheer chaotic energy of it all is kinda mesmerizing. Don't get me wrong, it's got problems (lol, pun intended?), but there’s a certain charm to its absurdity that I can't quite put my finger on. Specifically, does anyone else think the whole "Annie" character is seriously underappreciated as a truly terrifying villain? She’s like a suburban Cruella de Vil! And the whole Mortville storyline? It's bonkers! Maybe it's the nostalgia talking, I first watched this when I was like, 8 or something... but I'm wondering if any of you fellow horror/thriller lovers secretly appreciate the B-movie brilliance (or just plain silliness) of "Problem Child 2"? Speak up, don't be shy! And okay, maybe I'm just a sucker for a good trainwreck of a movie, but I'm betting someone else out there feels the same way. So, yeah, spill! What are your thoughts on this chaotic cinematic creation?
