Operation Condor - Anyone else notice the inconsistencies with Elsa's character?

Okay, so I've watched Operation Condor like... a lot of times. I love it, cheesy fun and Jackie Chan being Jackie Chan, what's not to love? But something's always bugged me about Elsa, the German woman who's supposedly an expert on... everything, apparently. Specifically, remember that scene where they're in the hotel, right after they escape the Arabs attacking them in the desert? And she's suddenly like, super flirty with Jackie? It feels completely out of left field considering her aloofness and almost contemptuous attitude towards him literally minutes before. I get that maybe she's starting to respect him or whatever, or even just scared and thankful for being saved, but the shift is just so jarring. It's like a switch flipped. Did anyone else catch that? Or am I just overthinking it? And then later, she's back to being all serious and bookish. It's like they forgot about that brief moment completely. Was it a deleted scene that would have explained it better? Or just sloppy writing? Or am I missing something obvious, like some cultural thing related to the plot (Nazi stuff aside)?
