OMG 'The Man in the Moon'?! Talk About a Throwback!
Okay, so I revisited 'The Man in the Moon' (1991) last night, and whoa, total feels overload! I'd almost forgotten how good this movie is. Reese Witherspoon's debut, y'all! She's, like, 14 or something, and already killing it. The whole sister dynamic between Maureen and Dani just feels so real, especially when Court (Jason London, total heartthrob alert!) comes into the picture. Sibling rivalries are real! I think what gets me most is how innocent everything feels, even when it gets heavy. That scene where...well, you know...happens? So raw and heartbreaking, and the way they handle grief is actually super impressive for a movie aimed at like, a younger audience. And that ending?! No spoilers, obvi, but get ready to ugly cry. Seriously, have tissues on standby. Speaking of Court, he was my whole entire crush when I was younger, lol. But rewatching it now, he does kinda play both sisters, even if he doesn't mean to. But whatever, he's hot. Okay, I'm kidding (kinda). But seriously, the movie is so much more than just a crush thing. It's about family, loss, and growing up, all wrapped up in this beautiful kinda sad package. Anyone else a 'Man in the Moon' fan? Or am I just showing my age here? What were your fave scenes/characters?! Let's discuss!
