Omen IV: The Awakening - Is it really that bad?

Alright, so I finally bit the bullet and watched Omen IV: The Awakening. I know, I know, director-less and generally considered the black sheep of the series. As a completist filmography watcher, though, I had to see it. And honestly? It wasn't as awful as I was expecting. Let me preface this by saying I'm a HUGE fan of the original Donner Omen. It's a legit classic. The sequels, while not as good, at least had a consistent throughline with Damien. This one? A whole different beast. The Delia character is... interesting. Asia Vieira actually does a decent job embodying that creepy, unnerving kid vibe. There are a few moments, like when she stares down the dog or messes with her adoptive mother Karen's (Faye Grant) pregnancy, that actually gave me chills. But the thing that really drags it down is the plot. Like, they try to tie it back to the original prophecy, but it feels so tacked on. And the ending? Don't even get me started on the whole immaculate conception thing. What were they thinking? I will say, the kills are pretty creative, if a little goofy. The elevator scene was unexpected. Overall, I think part of the problem is just that it doesn't feel like an Omen film. It feels more like a generic evil kid movie borrowing the Omen brand. But hey, maybe that's just me being a pretentious filmgoer. Anyone else brave enough to venture into Omen IV territory? What were your thoughts? Was I too forgiving?
