Rewatching 'The Bodyguard' - Tiny Details Make a HUGE Difference!

Okay, so I've lost count of how many times I've seen 'The Bodyguard' (guilty pleasure, what can I say?). But this rewatch? Woah. It's like I saw it with fresh eyes. I always thought the chemistry between Whitney and Kevin was good, but this time I really noticed the nuanced stuff. Like, the tiny glances he gives her when she's singing 'I Have Nothing' - you can see him starting to fall, hard. And the way she kinda rolls her eyes at his crazy security measures at first, but then you see her starting to trust him... it's so well done! Also, I picked up on how much Frank Farmer (Costner) is battling his PTSD from his Secret Service days. He's so rigid, so controlled, and you can tell he's constantly on alert. Before, I just saw him as a 'grumpy, but hot' bodyguard, but now I see the layers. Kinda makes you wonder exactly what happened with the president he couldn't save. It really adds a depth to his character that I totally missed before. One thing that still bugs me, though, is the ending. Like, he just…leaves? After everything? I get the whole 'professional detachment' thing, but come on! Give us a LITTLE more closure, at least! Maybe a little hug? A lingering look? SOMETHING! Still, those little details I noticed this time really bumped up my appreciation for that movie, even if it is a bit cheesy. Anyone else notice anything new on their rewatches?
