Universal Soldier: Underrated Action Gem?

Okay, so I just rewatched Universal Soldier (1992) and I gotta say, it still holds up! I know, I know, it's not like, winning any Oscars lol, but for pure 90s action cheese, it's chef's kiss. Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren throwing haymakers at each other? Come ON. You can't beat that. Seriously, though, Dolph as the completely unhinged Andrew Scott? So good! I totally forgot how genuinely creepy he was. The whole concept of them being these reanimated soldiers with memory glitches is kinda messed up too, when you think about it. Like, they're basically puppets, but with super strength and PTSD. That flashback scene with the ears? Yikes! And the fight scene in the motel room? Brutal! The plot is kinda thin, but who cares when you've got explosions and kickboxing? I kinda wish Ally Walker's character, Veronica, had more to do than just scream and look distressed for most of the movie, but hey, it was the 90s. I always thought the ending was a bit weak, tbh. Like, the final showdown felt rushed or something. But overall, it's just a fun, dumb, and over-the-top action flick that scratches that nostalgia itch HARD. Anyone else have a soft spot for this one? Or am I just showing my age? Let's hear your thoughts! P.S. anyone else notice how many times they say "UniSol" in this movie? It's kinda ridiculous. I started counting, but lost track somewhere around the midpoint lol. Also, that's one weirdly cool looking truck JCVD steals.
