Passenger 57: Is Cutter the REAL Badass?

Okay, so I just rewatched Passenger 57 (don't judge, sometimes you just need a brain-off action flick, amirite?). And I started thinking...is John Cutter actually a good guy deep down, or is his 'heroism' just a carefully constructed facade? Hear me out. He's got this tragic backstory, right? Wife killed. Makes him all sympathetic. But then he's suddenly super efficient at killing a bunch of baddies on a plane? Like, maybe a little too efficient? Think about the scene in the bathroom where he takes down that first guy. Brutal. Almost...enjoyable? And then the way he's ALWAYS one step ahead of Rane (the terrorist dude). I get that he's supposed to be a security specialist, but it feels like there's more to it. Maybe his wife's death unlocked something dark inside him? Or maybe he was always a bit unhinged and her death just gave him an excuse to cut loose (pun intended!). I know, I know, it's probably reaching. It's a cheesy 90s action movie. But still...Samurai's right tho, he should have just sat down. The whole thing would have been over. But then we wouldn't have the movie! But what if Cutter wanted the movie? Anyway, I just think it's fun to speculate. Maybe Cutter isn't just a hero, but a walking, talking, karate-chopping id, unleashed on an unsuspecting airliner. What do you guys think? Am I totally off my rocker, or is there something more sinister lurking beneath the surface of Wesley Snipes' charming smile?
