Thoughts on DBZ: Super Android 13! - Pretty Good, But...
Okay, so we watched 'Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!' last night. The boys are REALLY into Dragon Ball right now. It's a fun way to spend a bit of our free time, but sometimes I worry about the violence, you know? This one, though... it was okay. Not my absolute favorite. Visually, it's got that classic DBZ feel, and the fight scenes are definitely intense. I gotta admit, Super Saiyan Goku taking on Android 13 was pretty epic. I think the animation is a bit better than some of the early stuff, but that might just be me. I did feel like the plot was a LITTLE thin, even for a DBZ movie. Like, Dr. Gero's computer just... wakes up new androids? And those androids immediately prioritize finding Goku at the mall? That was a little strange! Android 13's design is also kinda... interesting. The whole trucker hat thing is a bit much, even for this universe. But the kids thought it was cool, so whatever! Vegeta actually teaming up with Goku and Trunks against a common enemy was a highlight. His pride is usually such a barrier! I personally thought Android 14 and 15 were kind of underdeveloped. They were just... there. But Android 13 gets a cool transformation after absorbing them, which ramps up the stakes. It's cool to see the guys get pushed to their limits. I think it's fun, but I wouldn't call it the best DBZ movie ever. Just a decent one to watch with the family on a rainy afternoon. I almost forgot! Krillin's comments when he's watching the battle from afar are so funny. He's just so helpless. The real MVP is always Gohan for making sure he's okay! I think this one is fine for older kids, but defintely screen it first to see if it's appropriate for your family. There's a lot of fighting and some robot smashing, obviusly!
