Twin Dragons is WILD! Jackie Chan squared? LOL
Okay, so last night we watched Twin Dragons (1992) and OMG can we talk about how bonkers this movie is?! Two Jackie Chans running around Hong Kong, getting into all sorts of trouble because they're twins separated at birth? It's like a fever dream someone had after binging too much kung fu and classical music. I was cracking up the whole time. I know the story is kinda ridiculous, but hear me out. The scene where the gangster Jackie (John Ma) is fighting in the garage and the pianist Jackie (Boomer) is trying to conduct and keeps getting his hands hurt mirroring what's happening to his twin? GENIUS. Actually, I think that was really well done and surprisingly funny. Like, how did they even film that? Any behind-the-scenes trivia on that segment would be awesome, if anyone knows. But seriously, did anyone else find the whole mistaken identity thing a little... stretched? Like, they are wearing completely different clothes and have totally different demeanors! How do people keep messing them up? Maybe Hong Kong was just THAT chaotic in the 90s, haha. I still kinda loved it, though. Maybe it's just my love for Jackie Chan speaking. Anyone else think it's a severely underrated action comedy? Or am I just easily amused? Oh, and also...were some of the special effects intentionally bad? The scene where they're jumping between buildings looked SO fake, but it added to the charm somehow, right? Or am I the only one who thinks that?
