'All Ladies Do It': A Supposedly Provocative Romp That's Mostly Just Boring

Alright, so I finally caved and watched "All Ladies Do It" or whatever equally ridiculous title it has in your region. I went in expecting some kind of bold, maybe even offensive, statement about monogamy, you know, something that'd actually live up to the premise. Instead, I got a mildly titillating, overwhelmingly bland story about a woman who thinks cheating is the answer to all her problems. Genius! Diana, our protagonist, is so unbelievably naive, it's insulting. Her 'logic' for thinking betrayal is the key is just childish. It's not even explored in a particularly nuanced way. I was hoping for some kind of commentary on relationships, societal expectations, even a whiff of genuine female empowerment, but nope. It's just...flat. There's a scene where she's trying to seduce some random guy at a bar, and honestly, it's more awkward than sexy. The movie seems to think it's being daring, but it's all so surface-level. And don't even get me started on the 'happy' ending. Like, seriously? I won't spoil it, but let's just say it reinforces every tired trope about relationships. Maybe that's the point? Subversive commentary by accident? Probably not. I guess if you're really, really bored and have a thing for bad 90s fashion and questionable acting, give it a shot. Otherwise, don't waste your time. There are way more interesting ways to explore the complexities of love and… unfaithfulness. I think thats a word, right? Honestly, the most interesting thing about this movie is probably the title itself, which is... well, misleading, to say the least. I'd give it a generous 3/10, and that's only for the unintentional comedy. Someone convince me I'm wrong? I doubt you can.
