Okay, Hear Me Out: The Cutting Edge (and THAT Lift!)

Alright, mom squad... I'm having one of those nostalgic movie nights and just rewatched 'The Cutting Edge'. Remember that one? It's so cheesy, but I secretly love it! For those who don't know, it's about a spoiled figure skater and a hockey player who have to team up for the Olympics. Super predictable, but the chemistry (and the costumes!) are amazing. Plus, D.B. Sweeney was my ultimate crush back in the day, LOL. But seriously, does anyone else think that Pamchenko twist is totally insane and probably illegal in real figure skating? It looks SO dangerous! I mean, I'm all for artistic expression, but I was practically holding my breath the whole time they were practicing it and during the actual Olympic performance. My husband was like, 'That's movie magic, Amanda,' but I'm convinced they needed, like, a whole team of chiropractors on standby during filming. My question is this: did anyone else watch this movie as a kid and totally want to become a pairs skater? I even tried to get my brother to lift me once, and it ended in disaster (and a sprained ankle for him!). Tell me I'm not the only one who daydreamed about Olympic glory after watching this! Also, side note: Brian Boitano's cameo is chef's kiss. Wish he'd had more screen time! What other cheesy sports movies are your guilty pleasures? I need some more suggestions for our next family movie night (that are maybe a little less likely to inspire dangerous stunts in my living room).
