Wayne's World 2: Is Garth secretly a genius?
Okay, so I rewatched Wayne's World 2 last night with Maddie and Liam (pizza and copious amounts of schwing!). And while it's generally accepted that Wayne is... well, Wayne, and Garth is, you know, Garth... I'm starting to think Garth is playing like, 5-D chess. Hear me out. Think about it. He's the technical wiz behind Wayne's World, right? He builds all the crazy gadgets, he knows how to use the cameras, and he's surprisingly good at...everything? Remember when he's playing drums with Aerosmith and he keeps up perfectly? Like, where does that come from? And then there's Honey Hornee, the manipulative femme fatale. Garth somehow outsmarts her, despite the fact that he seems genuinely bewildered by everyday social interaction. Maybe that's just his act. My theory is that Garth is low-key the brains of the operation. He lets Wayne be the frontman, because that's what Wayne needs, but Garth is always quietly pulling the strings. The whole Waynestock thing nearly implodes because of Wayne's anxieties, but Garth is the one who keeps everything running and gets Aerosmith there in the end. It’s just a sneaky theory, I know, and maybe I’m just thinking too hard because I'm trying to avoid thinking about the weird stuff Wayne does, but it seems way more likely than Jim Morrison ghost-shaping himself in the desert. What do you guys think am I crazy or onto something here?
