Alicia Silverstone in "The Crush": Creepy or Just Misunderstood?

Okay, so I just rewatched "The Crush" for the first time since...well, probably since it came out. And wow, it's a LOT. Alicia Silverstone is amazing, obviously. But man, that character! Adrian is just...intense. Like, beyond just having a schoolgirl crush. I almost felt bad for her at times, because it's clear she's really lonely and starved for attention, you know? But then she's, like, smashing that license plate on his car, and poisoning the roses, and you're like, "Okay, girl, dial it back a few hundred notches!" What I wanted to ask is, did anyone else watch this and kinda feel for Adrian, even just a tiny little bit? Or am I just completely off base here? I mean, Nick (Cary Elwes!) is kinda oblivious, and maybe even a little bit patronizing towards her? Is that any excuse for turning into a psycho, though? I'm so conflicted! And that ending!!! Ugh, I won't spoil it, but it was intense! I'm still processing it, honestly. Did she get what she deserved? Was Nick responsible for not taking her seriously enough? Argh! Someone help me unpack this movie! I just need to hear other opinions, because right now my head is all over the place. Also, quick side note, is it just me or was that house absolutely gorgeous? Totally detracted from the crazy, for a second there haha.
