Clerks: Still holds up, or am I just old?
Okay, so last night we watched Clerks (1994) and I haven't seen it in YEARS. Like, probably since actual VHS tapes were a thing. I remember thinking it was the funniest thing ever when I was in high school because the dialogue was so raw and real, you know? And tbh, it still made me laugh. Dante is just so perpetually miserable and Randal is the perfect chaotic foil. The scene where Randal is just straight up watching Pornography while at his job is still hilarious and you feel for Dante when he has to go to a wake on his day off. I really liked how unglamorous it all was; there's no 'movie magic' happening, it's just regular dudes complaining about their terrible jobs and the weirdos that come in. But I was wondering what you guys all think? Does it still hit the same way, or is it just a nostalgia trip for me? Also, is the hockey scene still the MOST iconic thing ever, or am I being dramatic? haha. I will say though, that it's definitely still funny and very relatable.
