Se7en: Still messed up after all these years! 🤯
Okay guys, we finally watched Se7en last night. I'd heard it was dark, but WOW. David Fincher REALLY went for it, huh? For those who haven't seen it, it's about these two detectives (Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt) hunting a serial killer who's basing his murders on the seven deadly sins. I honestly had to look away during some of the crime scene stuff, especially the Gluttony one... seriously disturbing. Freeman is SO good as the older, wiser detective. I loved how he was always trying to be a voice of reason, like when Pitt's character, Mills, was getting too hot-headed. Speaking of Pitt, he was great too, though I kinda wanted to smack him sometimes for being so impulsive. And Kevin Spacey? Chilling. That final scene in the desert... ugh, gave me nightmares. Did anyone else actually jump when he revealed what was in the box? I totally did, even though I knew it was coming! I'm not sure I'd watch it again anytime soon, it's definitely not a feel-good kinda movie, LOL. Too intense! But it's undeniably powerful and makes you think about some pretty heavy stuff. What did y'all think? Was it as messed up as I found it, or am I just a wimp? 😂 Also, anyone know why the director isn't credited?? Is that a typo, or is that like, a thing? Overall, super disturbing but well-made. Probably a 4/5 for me, just because I don't know if I need to see that level of depravity again, haha. But powerful stuff, for sure.
