Aladdin and the King of Thieves - Underrated gem or just... there?

Okay, let's talk Aladdin and the King of Thieves. I've got some mixed feelings, and as an editor, the pacing in this one kinda bugs me. It's the third Aladdin movie, right? So we're past the origin story and the first big villain showdown with Jafar. This time, it's Aladdin's dad. While I kinda dig the emotional core – Aladdin finally finding family – the execution feels... rushed? Specifically, does anyone else feel like Cassim's shift from 'ruthless king of thieves' to 'suddenly caring dad' is kinda jarring? Like, I get the idea – he left to protect Aladdin and all that – but that final scene where he gives up the Hand of Midas ... it feels too easy. They don't really earn that emotional payoff, y'know? Maybe they needed another scene showing Cassim wrestling with his choices before the big showdown. On the flip side, Genie is, as always, gold. I think Robin Williams was recording separately at this point, and it's seamless! Also, the animation is, for straight-to-video, pretty solid. I really appreciate the design of the Forty Thieves... but yeah, I feel like the story as a whole needed another pass to smooth out some of those rough edges. What are your thoughts? Did you buy Cassim's redemption, or was it too forced?
