Wallace & Gromit's 'A Close Shave' Still BANGS After All These Years!

Okay, so I just re-watched 'A Close Shave' (1996) and I'm, like, still obsessed. Seriously, Wallace and Gromit are the ultimate duo. Gromit's facial expressions alone are pure genius. Remember when he's knitting in prison?! I actually burst out laughing. And Wallace falling for Wendolene Ramsbottom? Classic. He's so clueless it's painful, but in a funny way. Also, that sheep-rustling plot? SO dark for a claymation movie, but it WORKS. Props to the writers for that unexpected twist! Feathers McGraw who??? Shaun the Sheep is the CLEAR breakout star here! Like, he basically saves the day. I always forget he was introduced in this one. The whole 'sheep-dipping' scene where they're all turning green is hilarious, and just so visually creative. I mean, it's pure Aardman magic, amiright? Honestly, I think 'A Close Shave' is arguably the best of the Wallace & Gromit shorts. It's got the perfect blend of humor, suspense, and heart. Plus, the animation is just chef's kiss. It's a short film, so you can bang it out in like 30 minutes, so if you haven't ever seen it I don't know what you're waiting for! (Also, yes, I am aware it's a short film, but come on, it's better than half the 'movies' I've paid to see recently.) Side note: I'm pretty sure my grandma had a knitter like Wendolene. Maybe that's why I love it so much? I'm only half joshing. Anyway, 10/10 recommend if you need a cozy night in flick AND you have good taste, obviously. What's everyone else think? Am I just being overly nostalgic, or does this one still hold up?
